Since its launch in May, the Build America Caucus has grown to 40+ members from across the ideological spectrum

WASHINGTON – Today, Build America Caucus Chair Josh Harder announced Rep. Celeste Maloy (UT-02) as Co-Chair of the Caucus. A founding member of the Caucus, Rep. Maloy brings a consistent track record of working to cut red tape and a passion for bipartisanship to the Caucus leadership. Since its launch in May, the Caucus has grown to more than 40 members from across the ideological spectrum.

“One of my first calls to start the Build America Caucus was to Rep. Maloy, who told me she almost drove off the road after hearing a Democrat talk about regulatory reform,” said Chair Harder. “This growing coalition is united around the idea that Republican or Democrat, we’ve made it too difficult to build the things we need, and our families are counting on us to come together and change course before it's too late. The Build America Caucus is laser-focused on reining in out-of-control housing costs, speeding up infrastructure projects, and making energy more affordable, and Rep. Maloy has been a consistent leader in those efforts. We’re incredibly excited to announce Rep. Maloy as Co-Chair of the Caucus and look forward to getting back to building.”

“We’re a nation that knows how to build things, but for too long we haven’t acted like it,” said Co-Chair Maloy. “That’s incredibly frustrating, and the solution has to be bipartisan. That’s why I was so excited when Congressman Harder called me about this idea. We can make smart environmental decisions that are faster and with fewer costly delays. We can get projects built sooner with less unnecessary process. And that’s what the bipartisan Build America Caucus is all about. We’ve already grown to more than 40 members from across the ideological spectrum, and we’re focused on unleashing America’s full potential.”

New members of the Caucus include Reps. Don Bacon, Maggie Goodlander, Steven Horsford, Young Kim, Mike Lawler, Sam Liccardo, Ryan Mackenzie, Rich McCormick, Blake Moore, Mike Quigley, Mike Simpson, and Rob Wittman

The Build America Caucus began as a first-of-its-kind effort to advance federal pro-growth policies and has since grown into the number one workhorse hub in Congress. Capitalizing on yearslong growing momentum at the state and local level to address scarcity and red tape, the Caucus focuses on three major policy areas:

  • Unleashing American energy through permitting and transmission reform.
  • Making housing affordable by incentivizing states and cities to build more homes.
  • Speeding up infrastructure projects by streamlining requirements and cutting red tape.

In just months, the Caucus has moved at startup speed – rolling out eight member roundtables and six staff briefings while introducing nine bipartisan bills of the Caucus’ broader pro-growth agenda. Dozens of members have also supported letters to policy leaders demanding concrete reforms on housing, permitting, and surface transportation investment.
