September 4, 2025

WASHINGTON – This summer, the bipartisan Build America Caucus hosted three high-level roundtables on housing, energy & permitting, and streamlining drug development. These are all critical areas where outdated rules are slowing America down. Lawmakers and national experts laid out solutions to cut red tape and get America building again.

Photos from all three roundtables are available HERE.

Roundtable Series:

  • Housing (May 21, 2025): Experts from Arnold Ventures, the Institute for Progress, Up for Growth, and the Niskanen Center outlined strategies to expand supply and lower federal barriers.

  • Energy & Permitting (June 10, 2025): ClearPath, Bipartisan Policy Center, and Niskanen leaders urged reforms to NEPA and the interconnection queue to unlock clean energy projects.

  • Streamlining Drug Development (September 3, 2025): Former FDA Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb called for modernizing clinical trials and streamlining FDA approvals to speed life-saving drugs to patients.

The Build America Caucus, chaired by Rep. Josh Harder (CA-09), has grown to more than 30 bipartisan Members united by one mission: cutting red tape and unleashing America’s potential.

Rep. Josh Harder (CA-09), Chair of the Build America Caucus, said:
“From housing to energy to medicine, red tape is holding our country back. The Build America Caucus is laser-focused on fixing that. These roundtables gave us the chance to hear directly from the best experts in the field about how to move faster, cut costs, and actually get things done in America again.”
